Anime: Transformers: Car Robots 13l3o

When it comes to the mecha category, the ONLY thing that I love from there is Transformers. Only Transformers. I mean, compared to the Gundam franchise or, hell even Code Geass, Transformers is the only mecha that focuses more to
the robots than those inferior lifeforms called humans. When I was watching Gundam Wing, I fucking loved the main Gundam and I was like "I don't care about those damn kids and what they do. Just show me the Gundams!!!"
(I was playing Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 2 on my Xbox360 back then and my favorite one was Wing Gundam :D ). Anyways, as a Transformers fan, I watched almost every Transformers TV show, both western and japanese ones,
from G1, Beast Wars and Animated to Heasters, Masterforces and the Unicron Trilogy (Armada/Legend of Micron, Energon/Superlink, Cybertron/Galaxy Force) and liked almost everything (Thank Primus, they didn't make an anime
adaption of that ...gulp... *dramatic silence* dreadful Kiss Player).

This one is a Japanese Transformers, originally called Car Robots, that was changed to Robots in Disguise (that's an original name for Transformers...) outside of Japan. You don't need to have any kind of Transformers knowledge
(even though I doubt there is anyone who hasn't heard of Transformers), since it's a different universe from G1 universe, Unicron Trilogy universe or Animated universe.

It's Transformers so there shouldn't be anything unfamiliar on the story. It's the classic war between Autobots and Decepticons... oh, wait... it's Autobots versus Predacons!! (the bad guys from the Beast Wars series) Still, it's the same deal.
Megatron kidnaps a scientist who developed technology that will benefit the Preds. Koji, the scientist's son, rushes to the scene, but Optimus Prime (Fire Convoy in japanese) is there and kicks Megatron's motherboard very hard,
but escapes with the scientist. Now, it's up to the 'bots to rescue Koji's father, stop Megatron and his Predacons and save the day. If you have seen at least one Transformers show before (I'm not counting the Bay movies...), it's the same thing.

Besides the names, one thing that's different between the English and Japanese versions is that in the Japanese version there are some nice computer-generated 3D graphics, mostly in transformations and attacks. In the English one, there don't exist.
The animated transformations are nice, although very repeatitve. In each episode you will see each character's transformation from alternative mode to robot mode at least twice (Megatron has 10 freaking modes, including the robot mode).

I saw the English version, so I don't know how the japanese voice acting is. For the English version, I really loved Prime's and Megatron's voice. Also, in the English version when transforming, the classic sound effect from G1 is there
(I can make the sound... Koo-koo-ke-hee Koo-koo-ke-hee...).

In the characters part... well it's Transformers, so you shouldn't expect too much. It's the heroic Autobots vs the evil Predacons. No complications. But, I still wonder, how the hell Megatron recruited all those useless 'bots for his team?
They are completely stupid and useless. Makes Waspinator look like Soundwave in contribution. And the Autobots surpress Predacons in numbers too.

It's a decent show, more like a Saturday morning cartoon you will watch on your TV. Has some good moments, some funny moments. It's enjoyable and watchable. Wherever you like it or not, it's up to you, as always.
