U is a singer and artist born June 25 in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. She took part in an audition and won there, mainly because of the original song she provided, g up with Sony Music Records afterwards. She made her debut 1998 under another name and continued to mostly write and compose songs but also sing afterwards.
In 2002 she left Sony and debuted under the name U for eroge maker Frontwing, writing the opening for Sweet Legacy. She continued to write, arrange, compose and sing songs for Frontwing afterwards.
She is part of the music band Funta, where she is also known under the name UCO.
