In January 2006 the Interchannel and Holon (which was aquired by Index from Gentosha Inc on June 30, 2005) became at the same time 100% subsidiaries of Index Visual and Games and subsequently were merged, specifically the PC software planning, production and sales divisions, to form one company, which was named Interchannel Holon and was a 100% subsidiary of Index Visual and Games.

Interchannel Holon's business profile included the manufacture and sale of PC game and Video Software. Its headquarters was left at Minato, Tokyo, where both companies were located. Interchannel's president Shigeki Takeuchi became the representative director of the new company. The initial capital was raised to 584 million yen.

The merger was realised on August 1, 2006. Following the merger Holon was dissolved.

As of August 31, 2007 the company had a capital of 574 million yen and 87 employees.

On October 31, 2007 the consumer game division of Interchannel-Holon was aquired by GungHo Online Entertainment and turned into a wholy owned subsidiary, GungHo Works, presided by Noriyoshi Oba, which was established earlier on October 15, 2007.

On August 11, 2008 the rest of Interchannel-Holon was amalgamated with Index Visual and Games and renamed again to Interchannel.

Interchannel is a Japanese game developer and publisher. Previously known as NEC Interchannel, it was originally a subsidiary of NEC before 70 percent of the company was sold to Index Holdings for approximately 3 billion yen ($28 million) in 2004. The company was established on October 2, 1995 in Minato, Tokyo. Its representative director was Shigeki Takeuchi.
