I wanted to give this 9, but no. That incredibly dumb, pseudo-kraut cunt was annoying me so badly, that i prayed she will drop dead from aids and cancer next episode at the furthest.

Otherwise it was one of the best post-apocalyptic setting depicted. Multilayered empty city with mixed WW2 and futuristic technology.

Last episode was strong acid trip (flying sausage mushrooms talking via radio) and lot of things remained unexplained.

A year after watching the anime Shoujo Shuumatsu Ryokou I saw an article referring to it in Falls 2018 issue of Anime USA from Otaku USA. On the front Page a photograph of the two main characters on their bike and the title Girls Last Tour Post-War Pleasantries! Inside amongst others I read that the original manga had ended its run in January 2018. The Anime starts from Volume 1, Chapter 1 and ends at Volume 4, Chapter 32. Ending of the manga is volume 6 chapter 42. What are left are only 10 chapters of unused material. So that is a no go for a second series. Maybe they would make a Movie? Anyway to anyone seeking some closure the ending is out there.

P.S
A question left unanswered even after reading the manga. Strange creature Mushrooms (Weird sentient entity) from Episode 12. What are they?

Aliens if I correctly. But they would be a similiar natural mechanism like in Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind...

Is there any chance the remainder of the manga will be made into something in the future? I quite enjoyed the series and decided to finish the story by reading the final 2 volumes of the manga, and I was pretty blown away by how the manga wraps up. In my opinion it consists of much stronger material than what was already adapted (most notably "oblivion" and "silence/staircase"), and I'd love to see that also in anime form. What's here is basically 100% true to the manga, so I'm pretty sure if the ending could be adapted as well in some form, it would be a home run.

The remainder could be covered in like 4 episodes at the anime's pacing, so I highly doubt it. There would've been a chance for an OVA or something if the series had kept going a bit longer, but usually those are released with volumes of the manga, so the popularity of each medium boosts the other in a synergistic way, and the manga is done. This isn't the kind of title that tends to get movie releases either. What we have is all that we're going to get IMHO, and the primary reason I dislike manga adaptations as a rule.

It stands on its own quite well with what it does cover though. *shrugs*

Hmm, after such a strong beginning I'm kinda underwhelmed how the last episode turned out. I expected a much stronger climax, something as emotional as episode 9.

It felt a bit rushed in the end, however, I loved the show for its eerie atmosphere and the fantastic character duo.

I watched the first two episodes and the last one because I certainly can't stand any more chibi-faced douchebags on tour.
It was very tiring to watch.
Some anime I dislike from the start. I found the design of the only two people off-putting. Then there are the dumb characters who babble randomly and act like idiots.

It was okay but left way too much of the setting unexplored and unexplained.

Like, where did all the people go, even if there are wars, the winning side should be alive or something? Unless robots killed everyone but then where are those killer robots and why did they leave the two girls alive?
Why build layered cities in a world of war with shrinking populations?
What happened to the animals? Plants? I can't imagine they were intentionally exterminated because people need to eat something, if anything, with that level of advanced technology they should have been able to revive species that go extinct.
Or create new ones. Like those things in the last episode, they're clearly man made. Also one of those things said there are no people on the lower levels specifically. Which is weird to say unless there are people higher up (who maybe made these things and sent them down to clean up all the dangerous stuff). But then they also said the life is ending on Earth which implies there is no one up there either? So which is it?
Also, if the fighting is still ongoing as shown when the girls get sent away to their journey, where are the corpses?
...oh wait, those things did say they don't eat LIVING humans so I guess they do eat the corpses...
